Description

Today's world economic conditions seem to change on an hourly basis. Canada and many other mid-sized industrial countries hope that the U.S. recession turns out to be short and mild.

Though the Canadian banking system was recently ranked the "worlds soundest" by the World Economic Forum's Global Competitive Report, American exports still remain a staple of the country's economy.

This report has found that the Canadian economy is expected to barely remain positive in 2009 as the slowing economy trickles through the construction industry. Nonresidential permits will decline 10% in 2009, and residential permits are expected to dip 10% also, due to declining single family intentions.

The report analyzes Canadian construction for total building types and major metro areas.
